This batch features trippy dreamscapes, some good old sci-fi exploration, more mirror universe Transformers, Heavy Metal's version of Breaking Bad meets Green Lantern, and a nice slipcase package of Druillet's Lone Sloane books from Titan.
THE DOOR GN
(W) Michael Moreci (A/CA) Esau Escorza
Waking up in a hallucination dreamscape where society has given up free will and where outliers are quickly re-integrated into the system, Lize ponders the same basic questions every human being has at least once formulated. "Who am I?" "Where am I?" "Where am I going?" And then she realizes that if she wants answers, she must seek one thing and one thing only: The Door.

Why this caught my eye:
I remember catching a chapter off this in an issue of Heavy Metal and looking forward to (hopefully) seeing it collected on its own because I really like Escorza's artwork. I'm assuming it was delayed for various reasons including Covid, but we finally got a resolicit here and should see a release in Sep hopefully.
40 SECONDS TP
(W) Jeremy Haun (A/CA) Christopher Mitten
A science fiction/fantasy adventure about a brave team of science explorers traveling through a series of alien gateways to answer a distress call a galaxy away. They find themselves jumping across the universe through strange and beautiful landscapes only to be hunted by a vast, inexplicably unstoppable and dangerous horde. Amazing truths lie at the final gate. If only they can make it in time . . .
Collects issue #1-#5 of the Comixology Originals series by superstar writer Jeremy Haun (The Beauty,The Realm) and Hellboy universe artist Christopher Mitten in this sci-fi expedition you will not want to miss!
"Haun and Mitten present a dazzling, dizzying, and spectacular sci-fi showcase that shows the scale of what comics can do." --SYFY Wire

Why this caught my eye:
This just sounds like a solid and quick sci-fi romp, plus I enjoy Haun's scripting.
TRANSFORMERS SHATTERED GLASS II #1
(W) Danny Lore (A) Marcelo Matere (CA) Nick Brokenshire
Shattered Glass is back! Optimus Prime is a ruthless tyrant, and Megatron is a compassionate peacekeeper. Cybertron sits on the brink of war as Autobots and Decepticons race to gain control of a Titan that could destroy either side in nanocycles. While everyone has their eyes on the Titan, Ultra Magnus, a powerful shadow broker, puts into action a plan kilocycles in the making!

Why this caught my eye:
Despite how painfully toyetic this sub-brand of Transformers comics are (which I touched on here), the last run was still fun. And this issue features the most metal AF version of Ultra Magnus possible, which yes, does mean I am inevitably getting that toy. I mean, just look at him.
ENTROPY #1 (OF 6)
(W) Christopher Priest (A) Montos
Heavy Metal's event series Entropy arrives from Black Panther and Justice League writer Christopher Priest and rising star artist Montos with covers by Bjorn Barends (King Spawn)! Breaking Bad meets Green Lantern in the origin story of Heavy Metal's ultimate supervillain! Henry Hanks had a good life, until he betrayed KAKO, the living embodiment of chaos and misery! With his whole world destroyed, Henry is killed and reborn as the newest herald of Kako, with the power to destroy entire worlds in his master's name.
All issues of Entropy will have a special Breaking Bad homage incentive cover by special artist Antonio Fuso!
MAY221499
Why this caught my eye:
One source has the first issue out last month, another says in a few weeks, so just a heads up on that. I saw the previews up on the Beat and I like giving Christopher Priest a shot and I like the sound of the set-up.
LONE SLOANE BOX SET
(W) Philippe Druillet (A/CA) Philippe Druillet
THREE PHILIPPE DRUILLET LONE SLOANE GRAPHIC NOVELS COLLECTED FOR THE FIRST TIME TOGETHER IN THIS LUXURIOUS BOXED SET EDITION! INCLUDES ART CARDS!
Collects The 6 Voyages of Lone Sloane, Lone Sloane: Delirius and Lone Sloane: Gail.
MAY221797
Why this caught my eye:
I am both happy and mad, because this is a nice package to recommend, but I have all of these already and would really like the slipcase. So someone may be getting some loose Lone Sloane volumes down the line as a gift.
Also, if you're not familiar with Druillet then have fun scrolling through a bunch of his art here.
That's it for this batch, we'll hit up some fantasy on the next round!
