ORPHAN & FIVE BEASTS #1
(W) James Stokoe (A/CA) James Stokoe
A brand-new kung-fu epic from James Stokoe, the creator behind Orc Stain and Aliens: Dead Orbit!
Spurred on by her master's dying words, the adopted warrior "Orphan Mo" seeks to find and kill five former disciples who now threaten the land with corruption from their demonic powers. Part Five Deadly Venoms and part surreal grindhouse, James Stokoe brings his knack for ultra-detailed fantasy imagery and over-the-top violence to this classic tale of revenge.
"His artwork is astonishingly detailed, with an infectious, monstrous energy and dynamism that needs to be experienced by every fan of comic books."-SyFy Wire

Why this caught my eye:
The first review up when this website when live was for a Stokoe book, so of course I wanna promote this new project. I would want to check it out for his art regardless, but comparing it to Five Deadly Venoms sort of cinches it.
GARTH ENNIS TANKIES GN
(W) Garth Ennis (A) Carlos Ezquerra
From the bloody battle for Normandy to the Nazi heartland, from war's end to the killing fields of Korea, the men of the British Army's Royal Tank Regiment fight battle after battle against terrible odds. Whether outnumbered or outgunned, the Tankies soldier on-as their motto would have it, "From Mud, Through Blood, to the Green Fields Beyond."

Why this caught my eye:
I was curious of publisher Dead Reckoning was going to start pulling together all of the various Ennis War Stories projects and it looks like they're indeed giving it a go. Nice to see this run spotlighted again, especially for the Carlos Ezquerra art.

Why this caught my eye:
I've mentioned it previously, but if you have any desire for these tough to find reprints that feature the likes of Eisner and Fletcher Hanks then you'll want to pre-order to be safe. PS Artbooks tend to be unavailable for reorder right at release, so best to play it safe.

Why this caught my eye:
Speaking of Carlos Eqquerra. Rebellion/2000AD has been getting some really good reprints out and it's great to see them feature this material.
JONNA AND THE UNPOSSIBLE MONSTERS #1
(W) Chris Samnee, Laura Samnee (CA) Chris Samnee
Don't miss the brand-new, original series written and drawn by Eisner-winner Chris Samnee! Filled with action, adventure... and monsters! Rainbow has been searching for her sister, Jonna, for a year. The last time she saw Jonna was also the first time she saw one of the monsters that now roam the planet. They're big, ugly, and dangerous creatures, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. Though there isn't much hope for survival out in the wild, Rainbow knows that her sister is out there somewhere-and she'll do anything to find her.
JAN211452
Why this caught my eye:
This is probably maybe more fantasy or sci-fi but screw it, it looks action packed and there's an adventure. Either way, I love Chris Samnee and this looks super fun.
That's it for this batch, we'll look into some crime/suspense stuff next time!
