THE BAT-MAN FIRST KNIGHT #1 (OF 3)
Written by DAN JURGENS Art by MIKE PERKINS
$6.99 | 48 pages | 1 of 3 | Prestige Plus |
ON SALE 3/5/24
The year is 1939. The world, still reeling from the horrors of the First World War, is on the brink of tipping into an even more gruesome conflict, as fascism is on the march—and gathering strength in America’s darkest corners. Against this backdrop, a series of violent murders has begun in Gotham, and the recent emergence of the mysterious vigilante known as The Bat-Man has the power brokers of the city living in fear of institutional collapse. All of the evidence in the murder investigation defies logic: the perpetrators are all men who died in the electric chair. But when the Bat- Man comes face to face with one of these sickening anomalies, he barely escapes with his life—throwing into question his ability to survive in a world that is brutally evolving around him!
Legendary writer Dan Jurgens and superstar artist Mike Perkins return to the earliest days of the Dark Knight, retelling one of his most infamous cases through an acutely modern lens, depicting a world paralyzed by anxiety and a desperate populace crying out for release!
Why this caught my eye:
I'm not always the biggest Jurgens fan, but when you give him a limited run he can produce some gold and this sounds interesting.
BAD DREAM A DREAMER STORY TP
Written by NICOLE MAINES Art and cover by RYE HICKMAN

Dreamer’s origin story has finally arrived, featuring characters from Galaxy: The Prettiest Star in DC’s first YA crossover!!

From actress, activist, and writer Nicole Maines, who originated the role of Dreamer—the first trans superhero on TV—and artist Rye Hickman comes the highly anticipated origin story of a girl who must accept her destiny to discover she’s more powerful than she could ever dream of.
Why this caught my eye:
Glad to see DC keeping this character in the spotlight and this is a great format to reach a larger audience.
BATMAN DYLAN DOG #1 (OF 3)
Written by ROBERTO RECCHIONI Art by GIGI CAVENAGO and WERTHER DELL’EDERA
$4.99 US | 88 pages | 1 of 3 | Variant $5.99 US (card stock)
ON SALE 3/12/24
See how the fates of Batman and Dylan Dog intertwined in the past through their lethal nemeses: The Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime of Gotham City, and Professor Xabaras, a mad genius with a taste for bringing the dead back to life!
Joker is in London to seal a hellish pact with Dylan Dog’s nemesis, the Mephistophelian Xabaras! The doorbell of Craven Road No. 7 screams, and beyond the doorway Bruce Wayne appears. For the Nightmare Investigator, an incredible adventure begins side by side with the Dark Knight. They’ll have to forge an uneasy alliance, putting aside their differences in order to successfully confront and defeat an evil that comes from the past…
Why this caught my eye:
What a randomly odd crossover to suddenly publish. Made all the more odd for me as I, on a whim, re-watched the 1994 film Cemetery Man just the other night. Which if you haven't seen, is based on a novel by the creator of Dylan Dog, and is essentially a soft adaptation of Dylan Dog that works better than the 2011 version Dylan Dog: Dead of Night starring Brandon Routh. And all of this is just a very long tangential way of me saying.....huh.
SINISTER SONS #1
Written by PETER J. TOMASI Art by DAVID LAFUENTE
$3.99 US | 32 pages | Variant $4.99 US (card stock)

But all is not as it seems, and the sons’ journeys will take them into the heart of darkness in this sensational first issue! Superstar Super Sons scribe Peter J. Tomasi returns to the world of DC youth once again—joined by fan-favorite artist David Lafuente—to craft one of the most dynamic debuts of a duo in DCU history!
Why this caught my eye:
You can't pass up a Tomasi scribed title following a pair of nasty little punks, plus can't go wrong with Lafuente artwork.

Spirit World follows the adventures of Xanthe Zhou, a non-binary Chinese hero with the ability to travel between the land of the living and that of the Spirit World—the realm of the dead! Xanthe possesses the ability to burn items folded from ceremonial joss paper and turn them into real objects. They can make anything they can fold, but their weapon of choice? A magical broadsword—because who doesn’t love a big sword when you can choose to wield a big sword?!
With Batgirl inexplicably trapped in the Spirit World, Xanthe forms a reluctant alliance with DC’s bad boy of the mystic arts, John Constantine, to embark on a search and rescue mission! Who knows what other spirits they’ll find—from a surprisingly powerful granny sorceress to the hanfu and headphone-wearing skateboarder boy with a gaping hole in his chest! Can they complete their mission and find their way back to the land of the living before the dangerous and powerful Jade Court intervenes, or will Xanthe, Cassandra Cain, and Constantine become permanent residents of the land of the dead?
Spirit World comes to life in the hands of beloved comics and sci-fi author Alyssa Wong and rising star illustrator Haining! Get on board an unforgettable journey with one of comics’ most compelling new characters!
Collects Spirit World #1-6 as well as Xanthe’s stories from Lazarus Planet: Dark Fate #1 and DC Pride 2023!
Why this caught my eye:
I completely missed the solicits for this title as it was coming out last year, but the collected format is probably the best way to get this non-binary representation out to the broader world.

Why this caught my eye:
I mean, how could I not spotlight this book? Also the return of Layman to DC, so a must read for sure.
HITMAN BY GARTH ENNIS AND JOHN McCREA OMNIBUS VOL. 1
Written by GARTH ENNIS Art by JOHN McCREA, STEVE PUGH, CARLOS EZQUERRA, and others
$125.00 US | 1136 pages | 7 1/16" x 10 7/8" | Hardcover
From the twisted minds of Garth Ennis and John McCrea comes Hitman, the story of contract killer Tommy Monaghan, who just so happens to have X-ray vision and telepathy.
This first volume collects Hitman #1-33, Hitman Annual #1, The Demon #42-45, #52-54, and The Demon Annual #2, and includes a brand-new introduction by Ennis, a foreword and cover by McCrea, and loads of behind-the-scenes material from the irreverent series.
Why this caught my eye:
I'm amazed they're bothering to do this, but I'll take a reprint win wherever I can. It's a little odd they're not including the Batman Chronicles #4 story which precedes the main title, but perhaps that will show up in Vol 2. Which, they better friggin' finish this out.
And if you've never read, this was one of the best titles DC published in the late 90's-early aughts. You should do yourself a favor and check it out.
